Postmedia begins downsizing of former Canwest newspapers

Postmedia, Canada’s largest newspaper chain, has begun job reductions at newspapers already picked clean by the Asper’s Canwest ownership days.
The former Canwest chain includes the Ottawa Citizen, where the CEP 87M media union represents about 200 members, and the non-union National Post. The buyout offer includes 4 weeks of pay per year of service to a maximum of 104 weeks with an overcall cap of $150,000.
