The company blames the closure on declining classified advertising and the movement of insert business to Thursdays away from Fridays when the Pennysaver is published.
Some of the sales reps have been offered jobs at the Sun Media-owned, non-union Londoner, which publishes Thursday.
The closure takes effect Oct. 22 and the layoffs take effect Oct. 21. Sun Media senior group publisher Susan Muszak said sales staff "will be given every opportunity for employment elsewhere in the company as it becomes available."
